Site visit Graphical Statistics
The Statistics service is accessible FREE via customers' Control Panel with our EasiList and EasiMarket (Pro) web services - and @ £15 pa with EasiMarket (Lite) websites.
When interpreting the graphical reports we recommend our clients focus on the "visits" and "pages" columns. The frequently referred to "hits" measure is not very meaningful - if a page has twice as many images as another page with the same number of visits it will record twice as many hits - a "hit" gets recorded for each image that gets delivered to the web site visitors computer screen!
By dividing pages" by "visits" an estimate of the average number of pages per visit is obtained - a measure that we should aim to get as high as possible. "Entry" and "exit" pages are useful to monitor. It's also useful to note which pages get visited most and least often - this can provide useful guidance for web site development.
We will provide additional guidance notes for users of our EasiList web site service as this "dynamic" web site service has "non-page" system-related files that appear in the statistics but which don't appear on the web site and which should be ignored for visit counting purposes.
The statistics provide insights into the performance and effectiveness of the web site, including useful pointers to areas for development or modification of the site.
The following are examples of the information provided:
- Number of visits per day per month.
- Number of pages viewed per day per month.
- Number of Pages visited per hour per day per month.
- Top 30 most visited pages per month.
- Top 10 entry pages per month.
- Top 10 exit pages per month.
- Pattern of page viewing per month.
- Most common search terms used to find pages per month.
A 12 month archive of web statistics is maintained, showing each month's detailed visit statistics, calculated on daily and hourly bases.
